Americans United is a religious liberty watchdog group based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1947, the organization educates Americans about the importance of church-state separation in safeguarding religious freedom. 

The Alaska chapter was formed in 2000, to help carry out this mission in Alaska.

We have started a project relating to implementation of the President's Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. This project will emphasize the need for accountability regarding activities funded under this initiative, and will advocate for the values that the President's program puts in jeopardy.

AU of AK asks you to assist with monitoring the government’s implementation of Faith-Based Initiatives. These initiatives, being implemented at various levels of government, have the potential for violating the separation of church and state.
